U.S. equity markets posted losses in all three indexes last week. The NASDAQ Composite lost 2.41%, the S&P 500 lost 2.62%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 3.01%. All 11 sectors were down last week; Energy, down 4.45%, posted the largest loss out of all of the sectors. The Quantified Funds recorded losses in four out of the five funds last week: The Quantified Managed Income Fund (QBDSX) finished neutral, the Quantified Alternative Investment Fund (QALTX) lost about 1.52%, the Quantified Market Leaders Fund (QMLFX) lost 1.86%, the Quantified STF Fund (QSTFX) recorded a weekly loss of 2.31%, and the Quantified All-Cap Equity Fund (QACFX) closed the week down 3.15%.

The All-Cap Fund’s daily trading of S&P 500 futures started the week 4.4% net long on Tuesday, increased to 5.0% net long on Wednesday’s close, decreased back to 4.4% net long on Thursday’s close where it ended the week. The Fund’s daily trading of NASDAQ 100 Index futures began the week 0.0% net long on Tuesday, increased to 2.4% net long on Wednesday’s close, decreased to 1.8% net long on Thursday’s close, and increased back to 2.4% net long on Friday’s close.

The Market Environment Indicator (MEI) remained bullish last week. On Thursday, equity asset-class allocations in the Quantified Market Leaders Fund remained at the following: Mid-Cap Growth (30.26%), Large-Cap Growth (15.14%), Mid-Cap Value (7.56%), and Emerging Markets (5.24%). Total sector ETF weightings remained at 56.76%, holding equal exposures in Financial Services, Internet, and Real Estate. The individual ETF positions with the leading portfolio weightings were the iShares Russell Mid-Cap Growth ETF (IWP, 25.25%), the iShares DJ Financial ETF (IYF, 18.92%), and iShares DJ Real Estate ETF (IYR, 18.92%). Total cash remained at 8.98%.

Within the Quantified Alternative Investment Fund (QALTX), the Long/Short Market Neutral Alternative subportfolio made no major changes this week. There were a few changes among the largest ETF positions: Allocation to the IQ Merger Arbitrage ETF (MNA, 1.58%) increased, while allocation to the Invesco Cleantech ETF (PZD, 2.37%) decreased. Last week, the funds were up 0.25% and down 1.69%, respectively.

The cash level within the Alternative Fund increased to 13.63% last week. The daily trading of S&P 500 Index futures with 10% fund capital allocation remained neutral for the week. The 7.5% capital allocation of the volatility-based systematic trading of NASDAQ 100 Index futures began the week 0.0% net neutral, increased to 4.0% net long on Wednesday’s close, decreased to 3.0% net long on Thursday’s close, and increased back to 4.0% net long on Friday to finish the week.

The Self-adjusting Trend Following strategy’s signal exposure in the NASDAQ 100 Index (NDX) was 100% exposed throughout the week. The Fund (QSTFX) was down 2.31%, compared to a loss of 2.37% on the NASDAQ 100 Index (NDX) and a loss of 2.38% for the Rydex Series NASDAQ 100 Fund (RYHOX), a current potential holding of the STF strategy.

The Quantified Managed Income Fund’s (QBDSX) two leading broad-bond index ETF holdings are the SPDR Lehman Municipal Bond ETF (TFI, 20.63%) and the Market Vectors Intermediate Muni ETF (ITM, 13.13%). Last week, the funds were up 0.50% and 0.51%, respectively. Cash remained at 2.00%.

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield closed up 1.84% last week. The 12% active portfolio exposure to 30-year U.S. Treasury bond futures in the Fund started the week at 7.0% net long and remained there until Friday, when it decreased to 4.0% net long on the day’s close.
